Frieza's ship Orbiting Planet Vegeta

[Frieza]

As the Saiyan race enjoyed its last few days of peace, the evil galactic emperor, Frieza was aboard his ship just outside the orbit of Planet Vegeta. Frieza was beginning a plot to destroy the saiyans, but waited for a divine guest to appear. We open to King Cold and Frieza discussing his plan.

[Frieza]

Frieza was in his captain quarters floating in his little pod as he heard a knock on the door. "You may enter," he said to the one knocking on his door and continued to say, "You better not be here to waste my time." Frieza turned his pod around and saw his father enter the room. It pleased Frieza to see his father doing so well in his retirement. "Hello father, have we any word on when he plans on arriving?"

[King Cold]

King Cold was in his private quarters when he called for Whis's attention.

"Whis...this is King Cold. If you hear me I am requesting a moment of your time to seek an audience with Lord Beerus."

As he waited for a response he was thinking of how this could possibly go. Either Lord Beerus grants them permission to destroy the Saiyans or he finds their request not to his liking and they anger the God of Destruction and bring their own end.

[Whis]

King Cold was in his private quarters when he called for Whis's attention.

"Whis...this is King Cold. If you hear me I am requesting a moment of your time to seek an audience with Lord Beerus."

As he waited for a response he was thinking of how this could possibly go. Either Lord Beerus grants them permission to destroy the Saiyans or he finds their request not to his liking and they anger the God of Destruction and bring their own end.

Whis heard the Frost King calling to him over his staff. He brought his staff forward and peered into the orb. An image of King Cold appeared before him. "Greetings Great King Cold. Your request to speak with Lord Beerus has been approved. We shall arrive within the hour. Please do make sure that your son is on his best behavior. Lest you both want to be destroyed." Whis said to King cold before an explosion shook the area. Whis let out a sigh and said, "I must be going it seems Lord Beerus is getting impatient, we will be departing with post haste."

Whis returned his staff to normal and walked outside to see Beerus blowing up nearby mountains to subdue his boredom. "Lord Beerus, King Cold is still wishing for that audience. Shall we head that way?" Whis asked Beerus.

[Beerus]

Beerus had been outside working off some stress and a serious case of boredom when Whis approached him. He then turned his attention to his attendant and when he heard that King Cold wanted an audience with him he narrowed his eyes and he said, "Humm...I am intrigued to know what he is wanting of me...we can go...though I do hope this time he has better control over that child of his, Frieza...he annoys me..."

When Beerus found out that these Frost Demons had world destroying abilities he had paid a visit to King Cold and made it very clear that if they wanted to destroy a world that it would have to be approved by him. He did not want the balance of the Universe tipped and the Omni King become angry with him.

He looked at Whis and said, "Let's go."

[Whis]

Beerus had been outside working off some stress and a serious case of boredom when Whis approached him. After getting done communicating with Whis, King Cold left from his quarters and headed to the captains quarters where Frieza waited.

Frieza scoffed at the fact he had to be a modest individual in the presence of someone he considered to be below his station. "Very well if acting modest will get him to agree with the eradication of the saiyan race then I will do so. You have told me the only two people I should never challenge are Majin Buu and Beerus. Why I don't know, but I will heed your warning." Frieza turned his pod back towards Planet Vegeta and began to smile.

The thought of ridding the universe of the repugnant saiyans made him so happy. A universe without annoying monkeys is a better universe. Something troubled him about a tale his great-grandfather, Lord Chilled, had told his father had him worried and full of anxiety.

A saiyan who can transform into a so-called super saiyan and kill his great-granfather was troubling to say the least. He turned to his father and said, "Do we know when the prince and his troops are to leave? I want to keep someone like him around. He is almost as cold-hearted as I am."

[King Cold]

King Cold looked at his son and he could tell his words were not being taken serious and though he heard him agree to behaving he said sternly, "Do not let your pride leave you blind son...Lord Beerus is the God of Destruction and if you dishonor him he will think nothing about destroying us and he can do it with barely any effort!!"

He gave his words a moment to sink in then he turned and looked out the viewing window and he said, "The king is sending his son along with two other to another world within the next 48 hours..if Lord Beerus gives us permission to end these Saiyans then we can move forward with the next plans."

[Frieza]

Frieza smiled at the sound of the prince departing so soon. He looked to his father, "Wonderful news! We can send out the order for all saiyans to return to Planet Vegeta. We should also call for Cooler. He might want to be present for the arrival of Lord Beerus." He moved his pod towards his father with a sinister smile. "Have our men starting asking around about the so-called super saiyan and super saiyan god. If they do exist I need to be prepared."

[King Cold]

King Cold looked at Frieza and he said, "I will make the calls."

He then opened a communication to the ships they had orbiting the planet and he said, "Attention! This is King Cold...we are looking for a small crew to go down to the planet and start asking about the rumors of a Super saiyan or super saiyan God. If any news comes of this you are to report to us immediately."

He then opened a second communication to Coolers ship and he said, "Cooler...your presence is requested over on Frieza's ship...we will be getting some visitors soon and you will want to be present."

[Cooler]

Lord Cooler was listening in on the channels when he overheard his name being mentioned. He was currently on his throne within the bridge of his own ship as he cruises the galaxy. His body cloaked in shadow Coolers purple skin was just barely visible along with his tail that frapped over the armrest of his seat. It just so happened that he was near Planet Vegeta's system when he overheard one of his subordinates mention the broadcast. Cooler had every intention of ignoring his father's request at first.

He was not much of a fan of his father's or his younger brother Freeza ever since the old man retired and put that pipsqueak in charge. Cooler was first born, but because his younger brother was gifted, he got the mantle. Unlike his father or brother, Cooler had to work to get where he was. Through intense training and discipline. This in his opinion made him much more powerful than either of them.

Cooler sat in silence with his red banded eyes closed for several minutes as he heard his father's voice drawl over the speaker. Finally he huffed and spoke down to his crew maintaining communication. "Very well. Reopen the channel to my Father." Cooler waited for the channel to be reopened, "Hello Father, I am in a system nearby. I will arrive over Planet Vegeta within 10 minutes."

I will make an appearance and we will be on our way." Cooler departed his ship through the top hatch and floated over to the one currently occupied by Freeza and their father King Cold. Entering the second vessel he slowly and maliciously walked down the hallway in search of his two family members.

It didn't take him too long to locate his father and brother. Turning one of the corridors Cooler entered one of the larger rooms. Inside he found his two family members and a few of Frieza's subordinates. "I am here father. Who is this special guest?"

Frieza was shocked by Beerus and Whis sudden arrival. He adjust himself and gave a modest bow towards the God and his attendant. Beerus looked at King Cold and then at Frieza and he was silent a moment then put his hand to his chin as he gave them both a cold stare then he said, "And why am I to believe these Saiyan's are trouble? ...I will have to judge for myself to see if this attitude is really what you say..."

He then stepped forward a bit and he said, "I do hope this is not a request to satisfy your own ego Frieza."

[Cooler]

Cooler was a bit taken back by the sudden appearance of Whis and then Lord Beerus. Though he didn't show it outward inside his pulse accelerated and his heart stopped for several seconds. If Cooler was capable of sweating he likely would have leaked several drops from his brow.

It took several seconds after hearing both Whis and Lord Beerus' voices before Cooler regained his composure and greet the pair proper. "My apologies to you Whis and to you Lord Beerus, my father neglected to tell me our guests would be you. Only that my presence was required." Cooler placed his right arm over his chest and bowed to the pair. Cooler was relieved he'd not arrived on the bridge a moment later. After greeting their distinguished guests he allowed his father and brother to speak, remaining silent.

It made sense now why they were over the Saiyan Home World. It seemed Frieza and their father had lost control of their pets and wanted permission to put them down in bulk. It seemed cruel even by their standards, but Cooler guested that was why Lord Beerus was called in. He was the Destroyer God, it's what he did. In truth Cooler didn't understand why they hadn't requested it sooner.

Ego? No, Cooler knew better. Frieza was afraid of something. Something he must have learned about these monkeys. Now he wished he'd paid more attention to them.

He then turned to Whis and said, "Whis...lets go down and pay the king a visit."

Frieza bowed once and said to the two as they left, "Farewell we shall await for you here Lord Beerus."

Whis looked at the Cold family and bowed, "Very well Lord Beerus. Farewell we shall return soon enough." Whis turned as Beerus grabbed his shoulder. Within moments Whis and Beerus disappeared in a flash of light as they journeyed to the Palace of King Vegeta.

Cooler let out a sigh of relief after Beerus and Whis departed to head to the surface. He then looked at his two family members. "Are you two out of your minds? Who's bright idea was this. You can't keep your pets on line so you call on the Destroyer? What if he disagrees with your wish? It could mean the end of us." Cooler couldn't believe what these two had gotten him into. He didn't know what was worse, being late to a meeting with the God of Destruction, or Beerus finding out he was duped.

If you remember grandfather's warning about the super sayian you would understand why this needs to be done."

Frieza Turned his pod back towards the window and clenched his fist, "There is a saiyan currently on the planet with an overpowering power level and I need to rid the universe of any possible super saiyans before they awaken fully." He began to show frustration as he turned back towards his brother with rage pouring out of his body. If you deem this foolish then by all means go ahead and destroy the planet yourself. I'd love to see you dirty your own hands for once."

Cooler smiled as Frieza turned in his little baby chair, "Afraid of shadows little brother. Unlike you, I have no problems dealing with any such insubordination personally. If there is such a uprising then squash it. Make an example of this... Super Saiyan." Cooler stared down his brother waiting to see if Frieza would take the bait.

Frieza looked at his brother and couldn't help laughing, "You seem to forget yourself brother. You are not in charge of my my forces. As I recall it was me father chose to take over his forces. I will deal with the nuisance in my own way." Frieza paused and looked to his father before continuing, "For you to not understand where you rank in the family is rather bothersome."

Frieza levitated out of his pod and landed directly in front of his brother, Cooler, he then began to raise his power to a point the whole ship began to shake. "Need I remind you I am only in my first form as a commodity to my troops and for you in that matter. I strongly suggest you bite your tongue, unless you plan on having it ripped out. Father here or not I have no qualms putting you back into my shadow where you belong."

Frieza was pissed now. His brother always knew how to push his buttons, but didn't realize the danger he was bringing upon himself. "Very well if you want to die then go meet the supposed super saiyan. I will wait here for Lord Beerus' return. I'm sure if he notices your absence, he'll take it as an insult to his stature."

[Cooler]

Cooler didn't flinch or tense a muscle at Frieza's childish display, though he was more than a little annoyed at being reminded that their father passed him over. Children who cried the loudest always seemed to get what they want. That's what Frieza was displaying to him. Cooler struck the very nerve he was after. "Yes, father did at that. You're so cute when you think you have it all, when in reality you have no grasp. You are loosing it Frieza." Just a little more poking and just maybe Cooler will get the opportunity to dispose of his little brother.

Cooler turned his back to Frieza as a mockery, "Do you know why you have to suppress your power with a form change but I do not? It is because unlike you, I do work. I get my hands dirty and have a much better grasp on my own power and don't need to lock it away." Cooler paused as he waited to see if his younger brother would take the bait, or call his bluff thinking he'd won.

King cold had stood for a moment watching his two sons squabble and as he saw it get heated he stepped up and said in a strong forceful voice,"Stop this squabbling the both of you!! if Lord Beerus returns here and seeing this foolishness it will be likely he will do away with all of us!!!"

Frieza looked to his father and looked back towards the planet below. "Well father is right, brother," he said to his brother, "Beerus would more than likely become irritated and kill the lot of us. Well I wonder," he approached the glass and looked down to the planet, "How is the dear king fairing with Lord Beerus now."

Whis laughed a little as he tapped the staff and he and Lord Beerus departed. As they travel up he changed their trajectory for Frieza's ship. Only a few hours had passed since they left the ship originally. Whis then tapped his staff once more and appeared in the captains quarters.

Frieza startled by the arrival of Whis and Lord Beerus took a defensive stance, but hen return to his normal posture and bowed to them, "Ah Lord Beerus you have returned. So please endulge us in your findings. Was what I said true? Has the King truly become aggressive and selfish?"

(BACK ON FRIEZA'S SHIP)
They then traveled back to Frieza's ship and as they appeared he heard what Frieza said and he said, "I do not have to explain to you my findings Frieza...I do however notice how you and Cooler are acting and I find it vexing to watch this so I am going to make this clear...if you want my permission to do away with these Saiyans you two will have to work together to accomplish this task." He said then stepped closer and added,"If I find out you didn't then I will return and you will not see the light of the next day...I do not like those who try to deceive me!!" He said and looked at all three over them in a why that the dead could have chills run down their backs.

Cooler smiled to himself as their father stepped in to quell their little squabble. It was laughable how fast Frieza changed his tone at the jest of their father. "As you wish Father." Cooler responded as he turned around to face the window with Frieza.

As if on que Whis returned with Lord Beerus just as Frieza had inquired about how the Monkey King Vegeta was fairing. Cooler turned around to face their returning guests as his younger brother asked for a report from Lord Beerus like he was some form of subordinate. As expected the younger brother was quickly scolded by the destruction god much to Cooler's delight.

When Lord Beerus requested that the two of them had to work together if they wanted to destroy the saiyans Cooler took the opportunity to sew a little chaos of his own. "I understand Lord Beerus. If you will permit me I would like to ask what one has to do with the other? It is true that my brother Frieza and I squabble as siblings often times do. As I don't know if you have siblings of your own. While I have no problems helping Frieza with his personal task of dealing with his pets, I would like to ask for a few days to consider the option not to. With all respect for you and your declaration. I would like to explore something I recently became aware of." Cooler was hoping that they would take his bait as he knew it would just mess with Frieza at his core, being unable to react with Lord Beerus in the room.

Cooler cleared his throat with a cough into his hand. "The saiyans have a legend that one of them will rise up and become something they call a Super Saiyan. I find such stories fascinating and heard that maybe one among them is such a saiyan. I would like to investigate the matter further if you will permit it. Perhaps you saw him during your trip to the planet?"

Frieza was in shock. The thing his family has feared for generations, all except Cooler, has finally came to fruition. He looked to Whis, "Please Whis, you must jest. If the Super saiyan has emerged then I request for us to destroy the planet at once. I will not suffer the same fate as my great-grandfather. I will destroy the saiyans now!!!" Frieza was becoming angry and started to raise his Ki. As he did his mind went blank, but for a moment.

He then realized who he was in his chambers with and calmed down quickly. He looked towards Lord beerus and bowed deeply. "Please forgive me for my outburst Lord Beerus. I'm normally more composed than this, but I'm currently absolutely livid. Please don't indulge my brother in his fantasy of trying to prove himself. If anything he should be happy you have offered him a chance to destroy the saiyans once and for all."

[Beerus]

Beerus stood there looking at Cooler and listening to what he said. He remained silent for a moment then heard Whis speak up and mention what they witnessed down on the planet. then he saw Frieza getting wound up and he stepped up and said, "I am finding this behavior of yours rather annoying!" He said as he looked at both Cooler and Frieza. He then looked at the two brothers and said, "You can have a week to seek out this knowledge, though if you are wise you should not go seeking such truths...instead eliminate the source before it shows itself!" he said then paused and said, "If you two do not complete this task and destroy that planet and those Saiyan's I will see it as a waste of my time and if there is one thing I do not like is having my time wasted!!." He said as he looked coldly at them.

He then turned to Whis and said, "I am done here...lets go..."

[Cooler]

Cooler bowed his head as Lord Beerus granted his request. "Thank you Lord Beerus for indulging my request." Cooler waited for the two deities to depart before turning to his father and younger brother. 'Well Frieza, it seems like there may actually be some truth to this legend after all. Frieza bowed as Beerus and Whis departed to return home. He then turned to his father and brother and listened at Cooler's claim. He grimaced and looked at his brother with cold determination and said calmly, "If you plan on going to find this so called super saiyan, then I will follow you myself and witness this so called transformation. I want to see him for myself, then kill it before it can fully awaken its power." He approached his brother and looked up to him. "Does this seem fair to you brother?

Before Cooler could respond frieza turned to one of his guards by the door and yelled to him, "You there, minion 42. Go and gather a team and search the planet for a saiyan by the name of Bardock. Once you find him, report to me is that understood?" He watched as his minion ran off and started grabbing members of the Frieza Force to begin the search. "Father? I think I'm going to go pay King Vegeta once his son has left. I want to possibly end him before the destruction of the planet." He stared at his father with a cynical and tyrannical smile.

TIME SKIP:THREE DAYS LATER

Three days have past since the events of Lord Beerus visiting King Vegeta and the exhibition match between Nappa and Bardock. Raditz made a full recovery and was off planet with Prince Vegeta and Nappa. Frieza's men had finally found the saiyan known as Bardock and brought news to him and his brother, Cooler. Our story picks up after the news is brought before Frieza and Cooler.

[Cooler]

Cooler looked over at the door when one of Frieza's subordinates stormed in declaring that they have located the Saiyan Bardock. "Interesting. It seems our wait my be over brother. Shall we depart for the surface and go face this legend of yours face to face. I hope you are not getting cold feet or anything. If this saiyan is as strong as you claim it could get dangerous." Cooler smiled as he left for the nearest hatch.
