The Fated Dinner

[Whis]

King Vegeta stood patiently as the food began to arrive. The food was place and the servants exited. Within moments Lord Beerus and Whis arrived. They saw as the King and Prince bowed.

And so began the dinner that would decided the planet's fate.

[Whis]

"Very well Lord." Whis had said as they began there decent into the dining hall. Within moments they arrived and saw the King and the Prince waiting for them.

They landed in the middle of the dining hall as the King and Prince bowed. Whis looked at the food place on the tables and realized there was nothing but meat. Whis said to King Vegeta, "Do saiyans eat anything besides meat? I must say the spread of food seems to have a very lackluster to it. Might I ask you bring more than just meat?"

[Beerus]

Both Lord Beerus and Whis arrived in the dinner hall and when they did Beerus looked at both the king and the young prince. The lack of immediate respect made him annoyed but he looked at the food spread then heard what Whis said and he said, "The assortment seems pretty lacking...did my sudden appearence leave you with a lack of imagination King Vegeta?..." He then walked over to the table while being sure to keep the atmosphere pretty tense.

He went to the table and looked at the food. He then glanced back at the king and said, "It seems you're lacking on food choices now a days..."
He then looked at the chair at the head of the table and said as he looked at the seating style which was not nearly as good as it had been the last time he visited. "I am disappointed in you King Vegeta....you are slacking on your guest manners." He said and shot him a look that made him qualle.

He then turned back to face him and he said, "Tell me...what was that demonstration I saw earlier?"

[King Vegeta]

Both Lord Beerus and Whis arrived in the dinner hall and when they did Beerus looked at both the king and the young prince. He then raised his head and looked to one of the waiters he seemed to be on the verge of fainting, "You fool what are you waiting for? Bring Lord Beerus and Whis more food and get them a variety!" He yelled as he continued to bow before Lord Beerus.

He then heard the comment made by Lord Beerus and began to respond with, "My apologies Lord Beerus, if you had given me a proper notice I would have made sure all of the accommodations were made to your liking." King Vegeta then raised his head to face Lord Beerus.

"As for the demonstration earlier," he began to say as he looked at Lord Beerus, "A good friend of mine was defending his honor against my current Commander of the Saiyan Army. As you could see in the bout, my old friend was victorious in this endeavor."

[Beerus]

King Vegeta bowed as sweat dripped from his brow, "My apologies Lord Beerus! I was not expecting to see you so soon. I had already thought you had gone to rest." He then raised his head and looked to one of the waiters he seemed to be on the verge of fainting, "You fool what are you waiting for? Bring Lord Beerus and Whis more food and get them a variety!" He yelled as he continued to bow before Lord Beerus.

Beerus looked at the king and said as he stepped forward, "How do you assume to know what I will be doing?..." He said as he stared at him a moment then looked at the food. He was almost tempted to try a taste but then he heard the king speak more.

He then heard the comment made by Lord Beerus and began to respond with, "My apologies Lord Beerus, if you had given me a proper notice I would have made sure all of the accommodations were made to your liking." King Vegeta then raised his head to face Lord Beerus.

Beerus glanced over his shoulder and saw the king had raised his head to look at him and he said, "Really..." and the tone was enough to send chills.

"As for the demonstration earlier," he began to say as he looked at Lord Beerus, "A good friend of mine was defending his honor against my current Commander of the Saiyan Army. As you could see in the bout, my old friend was victorious in this endeavor."

Beerus then listened to the demonstration explanation and he remained quiet as he was still unsure if there really was an importance to the demonstration other than the saiyan pride these Saiyan's hold so dear.

He then said to the king as he turned back to him ignoring his explanation of the demo he witnessed and he said, "I will give you a chance to accommodate me while I am here...I have recently heard that you had sought out the most comfortable pillow in the universe, bring it to me so I can try this pillow...I want to see for myself if there really is a truly comfortable pillow. Then I will try your food." Beerus said and waited to see if the king would fulfill his request as he wanted to test the king.

[King Vegeta]

A few moments later, Cauli had returned with the pillow and handed it to the king. King Vegeta accepted and headed towards the chair at the head of the dining table. He placed it gently and tried to remove any wrinkles that could be seen. "As you requested Lord Beerus, the most comfortable pillow in the universe." As he stepped back he watched as more of his chefs brought in more food of an abundant variety and place them in front of Lord Beerus. He thought to himself, "Perfect everything is starting to go more in my favor."

[Beerus]

As he stood waiting he heard the whisper the king gave to his servant and he could see the small hint of victory on the kings face as he felt his deceit would go unnoticed.

He watched the servant come and bring the pillow and he watched as it was placed at the end of the table. He then saw the more variety of food come into the room though by that time his apatite was not as present as it was when he first arrived, but he wanted to play along to see how long it takes before the kings true ego shows itself. Beerus then looked over at the table and looked at the food and he said to Whis, "Well it looks like these Saiyans have been hiding there good food...I don't know if I should be insulted by this deception."

He then looked at the pillow and he looked at the king as he moved to stand in front of him. He could see the fear in his trembling hands and he allowed the silence to send chills. He then said to him, "You do realize I have ears right? and my hearing is pretty damn good..." He then gave a subtle wave of his hand to send the king down on his knees.

He then said as he kicked the kings hands out from under him knocking him flat on his face allowing him to put his foot on his head and apply just enough pressure to hurt but not kill.
"...You know, I consider myself to be a rather flexible deity. And though I try to shrug off the constant shortcomings of the witless masses, there's one thing I cannot tolerate. And that is the callous arrogance of those who do not pay me the respect a Destroyer is due....I asked for your most comfortable pillow and you purposely asked your servant to bring your second best!...DO YOU TAKE ME FOR A FOOL!!..."

Whis watched and knew this was more than likely the last straw and Lord Beerus was definitely enraged by this disrespectful act. He watched as he stepped upon the king's head. It was sad, because now there was no chance to eat with his fury ignited. He looked over and saw the young prince looking from afar. The boy seemed to be mad for what was happening, but held where he was.

He stepped out from behind the corner and rushed the strange creature. "HOW DARE YOU!!!! THAT IS THE KING OF SAIYANS!!!"

He stared down on the kid and then made him fall onto his stomach.

He looked down on the two saiyans and he said, "I don't generally give any mercy, but I have lost my appetite." He said and took his foot off the kings head. As he did he said, "Consider this my act of mercy...though the next time we meet I will give no such mercy!...I will destroy your world and everyone on it!" He said as he saw the king glance up at him and his son who laid paralyzed by an invisible force.

He then stepped away to stand by Whis and as he did he released the both of them from his invisible grip. He then said to Whis, " I am done here...I have seen what I needed...it is time to leave."

Whis approached Lord Beerus, King Vegeta and the prince. He stood by Lord Beerus and said to the king, "Pity we won't get to have any of the food, King Vegeta, but you did try to decide a destroyer God and that was your mistake. Plus look at his ears did you really think he wouldn't hear your scheme. Well this is farewell for now." Whis laughed a little as he tapped the staff and he and Lord Beerus departed. As they travel up he changed their trajectory for Frieza's ship.
