Royal Palace of Planet Vegeta

[King Vegeta]

This illustrious palace is the home to the great King Vegeta and his family.

[Narrator]

Three days had passed since the exhibition match between Nappa and Bardock. King Vegeta watched as his son and troop left the planet for the prince's first mission. As the ship departed, King Vegeta returned to his throne and was lost in his own thoughts. Suddenly, King Vegeta remembered one of the members of his son's troop was missing. Who was the missing member of the prince's military group?

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta was beginning to get frustrated trying to remember the last member of his son's team. He began to tap his fingers vicious on his thrown, when he suddenly remembered. He turned to his royal aide and said, "Faust have someone fetch Delvin Chikimaru. He was suppose to leave with my son today. Let him know the King demands his presence." King Vegeta's tail began to twitch as he looked at Faust. Faust, thrown off by the king's request, bowed his head and responded, "As you command Sire. I'll have them fetch him as soon as possible. Also my King, I feel I should inform you that King Cold has requested an audience with you as well."

King Vegeta sighed and responded with slight irritation, "DAMMIT! Fine let King Cold know he can join for this meeting with Chikimaru. Now hurry and bring them here." King Vegeta watched as Faust left the room to fetch those to be involved. He went to sit on his throne as he waited for his guests to arrive.

[King Cold]

King cold was on board Frieza's ship waiting to hear from King Vegeta. He had wanted to check in and see what the Saiyan King had been up to and he felt at this time his presence wouldn't cause as much alarm as it would if his son Frieza went.

He was sitting at his chair when the call came through from King Vegeta's royal Aide. He then responded back to the aide over the comm, "Very well I will be there shortly."

He then stood up and looked over at Zarbon who stood close by ready to accompany him and provide backup if needed. He was also very aware that Frieza has him there so he knows all of what is going on. He then said to Zarbon, "Come along...we have a meeting with the saiyan King to attend."

He then led the way out of the control room and they headed to the landing bay and the two of them flew off the ship and headed down to the planets surface. As they approached the palace both of them landed and walked inside and were instantly greeted by a couple royal guards that led the two of them to the thrown room.

The doors opened and both King Cold and Zarbon entered the Thrown room and walked down the aisle to where King Vegeta sat at his thrown.

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta sat patiently waiting for his guest to arrive, when Faust had returned. Faust bowed and said, "The Great King Cold has arrive your majesty." Faust continued his bow as the doors to the throne room opened. Approaching his throne was King Cold and one of Frieza's aides, Zarbon. King Vegeta rose from his throne and bowed towards King Cold. Though he found it disgusting, he wanted to assure his former leader he still respected him to a degree.

As King Vegeta raised his head he said to King Cold, "Thank you for coming so quickly Great King Cold. My apologies, but we are still waiting on one more guest to arrive." King Vegeta stepped down from his throne and put a hand out towards King Cold and gesture for him to take a seat on his throne.

[Zarbon]

Zarbon accompanied King Cold as they went to see King Vegeta. He remained silent but his eyes spoke of the disgust and discomfort at being in the company of so many saiyans. He tried to not let this be seen but he was sure the various other members of the royal court shared the same discomfort seeing them walk in the palace.

As the two of them entered the thrown room his expression went neutral and he stood silently by King Cold's side.

[King Cold]

King Cold saw as the Saiyan King offered a seat and he walked up and sat down next to him. As he did Zarbon followed to stand behind him and watch over things.

He then said, "I have indulged your request for an audience with me...why have you called for me King Vegeta?"

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta watched as King Cold approached the throne. He stepped aside and bowed as King Cold took a seat. He descended the throne and faced King Cold as he spoke. He listened to what King Cold said and responded, "I just wanted to have a brief conversation about something I have noticed happening recently, but I also wanted to have you present for the other guest I have called upon."

[King Cold]

King Cold looked at King Vegeta and was momentarily silent. He then said, "Ohh...and what might that be?..." He said with a cold voice.

He then heard of another guest joining them and he said, "And who is this other guest you invited for this meeting...I am not in the mood for games Saiyan...so do not be elusive with your words." He said while knowing that his very presence is not letting the saiyan King feel any kind of comfort.

[Devlin Chikimaru]

Devlin rushes to the the throne room, his presence was called. He had gotten way to focused on the system he was working on. Very soon the Saiyans could have a way to relocate and fight alongside robotic warriors. They were powerful enough on their own but an added push didn’t seem wrong. He makes it halfway there and teleports nexts to King Vegeta in a bow. “Forgive me my King, I apologize for my tardiness.”
Devlin says his eyes staring straight at the floor. It was then that Cold’s energy hit him. His body froze and he spoke once more.
“The wonderous King Cold, how blessed I am to be allowed in your presence.”
Devlin says and stands straight his eyes still on the floor.

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta was about to respond to King Cold when Devlin had arrived, saving him from the awkward conversation. He rose and said, "Ah... Devlin you've arrived. Thank you for showing up as quickly as you could. Are you aware of what today was?" King Vegeta kept his cool as he awaited for Devlin's response. One wrong move and King Cold would kill the both of them.

[Devlin Chikimaru]

Devlin thinks and nods.
“Why of course my liege, today is the day I leave with the young Prince.”
Devlin responds his eyes still locked on the marvelous tiled floors. He could sense the tension in the air, something was going on.
“I do come with some splendid news. I have made a breakthrough on my research. Project Arc Core has begun and soon the drone militia should be able to start manufacturing. I have also come up with some new designs and ideas for our armor, including some new materials to add some more durability and maneuverability.”
Devlin says and a soft smirk formed on his face from underneath his mask.

[King Cold]

King Cold sat quietly looking at the Saiyan king waiting to hear what he had to say. He was then interrupted when the other guest showed up and he looked at him and could see he was a lower class. He then noticed how he stared at the floor even as he spoke to King Vegeta. He allowed this conversation go on for a minute then said, "So this low class saiyan is your other guest, and what would he have to offer me to make me pay him any mind?..." He then looked at King Vegeta. He then said as he listened to what Devlin said to him, "What role do you provide for King Vegeta...it sounds like you have science skills...and I am not on the floor in front on you. Look me in the eyes when you speak." He said with a bit of irritation.

He then said, "So you made an Arc Core? and what does this thing do? And why would you need to. Upgrade the armor we provided?"

[Devlin Chikimaru]

Devlin’s blue eyes lock with King Cold’s. He might have just signed his death warrant.
“My greatest apologies Great King Cold, my name is Devlin Chikimaru the Kings Royal Scientist and personal aid to the prince. The Arc Core project is a new technological experiment I have personally begun. It starts with an Artificial Intelligence program that begins the manufacturing of drone warriors, all of which once was in prototype would be presented to you my lord.”
Devlin says extremely formally, trying not to disrespect the man holding his life.

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta realizing that everything was going to crazy and said, "Yes my apologies King Cold this is my Royal scientist and the technical support to the prince. He has been in charge on increasing our usefulness towards Lord Frieza's forces. With the new armor, it will decrease casualties across the board. Also with the Arc Core it will give us additional forces and with an A.I. that functions as fast as a Super computer." King Vegeta bowed his head in respect towards King Cold.

He raised his head and gave a polite gesture towards King Cold and continued to say, "My apologies for not informing you of our improvements being made on the tech. I do believe it will become valuable to the Frieza Force. Please forgive my negligence and forgive Devlin for his lack of etiquette. I was originally calling Devlin here to have him head out to me with the prince."

[Devlin Chikimaru]

Devlin nods and bows. A quick sense of relief washed over him.
“At once King Vegeta. I shall meet with the Prince at once. Blessed be you Great King Cold.”
Devlin says and continues maintaining eye contact. King Cold was giving him a bad feeling and King Vegeta’s body language was reinforcing that feeling. That dead gaze and cocky smile, he knew Cold was basically begging him to try. Devlin started to feel a bubbling feeling within and awaited his king.

[King Cold]

King Cold listened to the explanations and he narrowed his eyes only slightly. "This was not a very wise move King Vegeta...you should know to keep your technology up to date..." He then stopped and thought on the situation then looked at Devlin as he kept eye contact with him.

He then turned to King Vegeta as he stood up and said, "If I didn't like this technology stuff your subordinate came up with, the very act of doing this behind my back would of came with dire consequences!...Now if you have nothing else to tell me I will be leaving." He said as he looked down at King Vegeta. The cold pause he gave before turning to leave was intended to make him sweat a bit and to his satisfaction it worked. He then looked back at Devlin who was being bold by holding eye contact and he momentarily flexed his ki to show where he stood.

He then looked to Zarbon and as he did he saw the small smile on his face. He then said, "Come on Zarbon...let head back to the ship." He then lead the way out of the thrown room and left the saiyan king to feel his nerves recollect.

[Devlin Chikimaru]

Devlin stands still feeling the Ki surge through him, it was massive. He could sense that Cold was showcasing how far ahead he was of Devlin, and it fueled that feeling deep inside of him. The Kings demeanor showed Devlin that he wasn't the only one with a bad feeling

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta bowed his head as King Cold left the Royal Chamber. His stomach was in knots and his rage boiling. How dare that bastard threaten him in front of his subordinate. He waited until he heard the door close, before he raised his head. He then moved to his throne and sat, burying his head into his palms.

A few moments passed, before he lifted his head up and looked at Devlin. He let out a sigh and said, "Though that was not how I wanted this meeting to go, I can tell you also felt the hostile intent coming from him. We need to be more careful from now on. Now give me the full report on the Arc Core Project, I need to know everything you have acheived." King Vegeta looked at Devlin expectingly

[Zarbon]

Zarbon had been watching silently studying the demeanors of the two Saiyans during the discussions with King Cold and he knew all the talking was being relayed over to Frieza. When the talks ended and King Cold stood up to leave he prepped to follow. He had a smile on his face as he saw how the two saiyans cringed at the might of King Cold's ki as he flexed only slightly. He then silently followed King Cold as he exited the thrown room and as the door closed he paused only for a moment as he heard the king speak of being careful. He then turned and followed King Cold as they left the palace and headed back to the ship.

[King Cold]

As King Cold exited the thrown room and the door closed he saw Zarbon pause a moment to listen at what was being said. He then turned and as he did he said, "Come, we need to return to the ship." He said and lead the way out of the palace and went to their transport ship to return to the main mother ship where both Frieza and Cooler were waiting to hear the results of the meeting in full.

As they got into the ship and were now isolated from prying saiyan ears he said to Zarbon, "Did Frieza get the full conversation?..."

Zarbon then gave an affirmative and King Cold just smiled. and they left Planet Vegeta and headed to the ship.

[Devlin Chikimaru]

Devlin nods and drops to his knee, he remained staring at the floor.
“The Arc Core project has successfully started building the Artificial Intelligence to continue Project Arc Core’s robotic militia manufacturing. With the AI we should be able to start the construction of the Arc Space Colony and correctly construct the necessary vehicles to transport us there. I have also been working on a alteration of Saiyan dna, I’ve found certain cells dormant in our genetic coding and with the Arc Core we could accelerate the dormancy forcing them to awaken. I believe these cells have to do with a legend our people hold dear to us as a final hope; the Super Saiyan. I hope this pleases you my King.”
Devlin’s heart raced in his chest, he was terrified that he did something wrong.

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta listened patiently as Devlin gave his report on the state of the Arc Core System. He was happy knowing one of his scientist had his head firmly on. He knew if anyone could complete the system it would be Devlin. King Vegeta became more enthralled with the conversation once Devlin brought up the Saiyan's DNA. The fact that their were dormant cells in each saiyan that could trigger the super saiyan transformation fascinated him. He then realized how nervous and anxious Devlin was.

He raised from his throne and said, "Very Good Devlin. Just what I expect from Bardock's first born. Your project is moving along well by the sounds of the report. Keep up the good work." King Vegeta walked towards Devlin and placed a hand on his shoulder. He could feel the saiyan before him trembling. He sighed and whispered into Devlin's, saying, "Calm your nerves Devlin. If Cold tried to do anything to you, I would have stepped in. You are the key to the saiyan race surviving, if Freiza decided to destroy us."

King Vegeta watched as Devlin seemed to calm down after hearing these words. He rose back to his feet and said, "The prince and his troop left a few hours ago. If you leave now you should be able to arrive around the same time as him. Go forth, first son of Bardock. Protect my son and ensure the Survival of the saiyan race." King Vegeta walked back to his throne and sat once more, waiting for Devlin to respond.

[Devlin Chikimaru]

A soft smile formed on his face and he nodded. The King knew his father, and the king trusted Devlin with everything. He knew that the King would protect him.
“Yes my liege, I hope to see you very soon. The prince shall be in good hands.”
The young boy says bringing his eyes up to the kings and bowing once more, before running out of the throne room to the pod bay. His main objective was protecting the Prince and he would make damn sure it happened.

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta watched as Devlin relaxed, after mentioning his father. Though Bardock may have forgotten about his first born, King Vegeta didn't. That was why he took in the young man and gave him an opportunity. King Vegeta watched as responded to him and finally made eye contact. He smiled as Devlin rose and began to leave the throne room. As Devlin left King Vegeta yelled out, "Whatever you do Devlin, do not return to the planet! Ignore any order to return, that also goes for the prince as well!" King Vegeta watched as the throne room doors closed after Devlin exited. He sighed and relaxed in his chair, waiting for something to happen.

[Devlin Chikimaru]

The words the King said echoed through his head as he reached the pod bay, tears streaming down his face. If its what the king commanded then so shall it be. He punches the coordinates into the pod and sets off to meet the Prince and his team. He looks back at his planet once more, knowing as he was hurtling through space it might very well be the last time he saw it.

[Frieza]

A few hours had passed since Frieza received the transmission from Zarbon. He smiled as he approached the castle of the king monkey. He chuckled as he entered the castle and the saiyans moved away from him. He turned to the saiyans as he enter the throne room and said, "Leave us. I wish to speak to your king alone. Actually.. take the day off." Frieza watched as the saiyans exited the room with haste, leaving him with King Vegeta alone.

He chuckled once more and said to King Vegeta, "Don't bother offering me your throne. This will be a very quick conversation between us." He turned to face the King who was in the process of standing. He gave a wicked smile as he watched the King obey him like a loyal dog.

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta was relaxing at the end of a long day. His meeting with King Cold caught him off guard, but seeing Devlin's progress was enough to brighten his day. He said to himself, "My adopted eldest, please nature your brother's and help them become fine young men." He was starting to get comfortable when he heard his servant, Faust, announced the arrival of Frieza. He sat upright rather quickly as the throne room doors open and Frieza sent his guards home.

He began to rise out of his throne to offer to frieza, but was told to remain seated. He had no idea what this bastard was doing here, but he wasn't going to do anything to encourage the tyrants wrath. He looked to Faust and gestured for him to wait out in the servants quarters. He turned his attention back to Frieza and said, "Lord Frieza, to what do I owe this honor? Is everything alright?"

[Frieza]

Frieza walked toward the king and said, "The pleasure is mine, of course. I wanted to inform you that one of your Saiyans thought it wise to challenge my brother to a fight. I don't think he's dead, but he was close. I'm sure his family got to him on time. I think you're close to this Saiyan... I believe his name was... Bardock?" Frieza said the Saiyan's name with such a condescending tone. He waited to see how the king would respond.

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta was shocked by the news he had received. What in his right mind would possess Bardock to attack Cooler? He leaned forward in his throne and began to contemplate the information he received. He looked to Frieza and said, "My apologies for Bardock's actions. I'll have my guard arrest him for his transgression. Is there anything else I should know?"

[Frieza]

Frieza snickered as he heard what King Vegeta said. He began to laugh and said to the King, "It means nothing to me. He received punishment for his actions, my brother made sure of it. I do have one final thing for you though." Frieza paused as he walked closer to King Vegeta and asked, "Do you know how to defeat a Troup of primates? It's simple really..." Frieza raised his hand and aim his finger at Vegeta's chest and fired a death beam through his chest. He watched as King Vegeta began to lull and said, "You take out the alpha monkey." Frieza laughed as he exited the castle.

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta was puzzled by the question but had received the answer most darkly. He was shot through the chest by Frieza's death beam and fell over out of his throne. His blood pooled around him as Frieza left. His vision was fading when he felt someone lift him and take him to the infirmary. Before his vision faded completely, he saw Faust punching in numbers and had him heal in the kelto tank.

[Narrator]

As Frieza and his family plot the destruction of Planet Vegeta, three days pass while Bardock and King Vegeta heal. Both make a full recovery as the rest of the saiyan race, excluding a few who deny the call to return home, have come home to Planet Vegeta. The final day of the planet and the saiyans have arrived. What will befall Bardock and King Vegeta?

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta's consciousness was in and out throughout of his healing process. When he heard the machine timed out and released the liquid, he stepped out and looked around. He saw a new set of clothes nearby and quickly changed into them. As he finished changing, Faust entered and informed him how long he was out and what was going on. When he heard he had been out for three days and all the saiyans had been recalled, he freaked out and rushed towards Devlin's lab.

He knew the boy had heard him when he said he didn't want him to return, but he had to be sure. He busted through the door and said, "Devlin are you here!?!?" He looked around and didnt see his adoptive son anywhere. He let out a sigh of relief and began to investigate the room. He saw all the small devices Devlin had been working on and saw the replica of the Arc station. He smiled and approached the replica and saw a datapad with his name on it. He pressed the button and waited for the machine to activate.

[Devlin Chikimaru]

The data pad activates and a hologram image appears in the center of the lab. Devlin appeared as a hologram and bowed briefly before standing straight. The twelve year old prodigy stood before the King of Saiyans, hologram or not his demeanor was frantic and full of sorrow. "Hello Father, if you are seeing this pre-recorded hologram than that means something has happened that has forced my leave. For as long as I can remember you were there for me, me a lower class nobody."
Devlin said and took a slight pause trying to maintain his composure.
"I'm sorry, I'm trying to be strong like you taught me to be. You made me nobility and it's time for me to show it. Twelve years, I wouldn't take a second back of them, and I will always hold the memories of us and our world close and dearly. If this has to do with Frieza then I believe in you to save us all, and I know you will. I would die by your side in battle but I am sure your decision in my absence was well chosen. I should let you go, you summoned me to talk in about 15 minutes. Promise you'll never forget me Father, I love you."
Devlin says as his voice breaks and as he starts to cry the transmission ends

[King Vegeta]

King Vegeta watched as his son spoke to him. The very vision of his son moved him to tears. He thought of his son and Devlin and tears began to flow. He listened as Devlin explained himself. When heard Devlin say he was nothing but a lower born he began to get angry. He was going to yell at the hologram, but was cut off by Devlin explaining how he was going to continue to hold himself with nobility. He smiled as he looked at the hologram and smiled.

King Vegeta was surprised when Devlin had mentioned their conversation to happen, before they even had it. He smiled as the hologram utter the words he was waiting to hear. As he saw Devlin cry and the transmission ended, King Vegeta slammed his fist on the table and let out a mournful cry. He then pressed the button and watched the transmission again. He sat and watched it several more times before getting up and leaving the palace. He then took to the sky and flew off towards Bardock's village.
